Graph Engineer, AI Agent Systems

Full-time
Remote (US/EU time zones preferred)Strong practical experience with modern coding agentsCompensation varies based on experiencePosted recently

Role Overview

We're building production-grade agent systems that treat work as a directed graph, not a linear chat thread. You will design, implement, and harden execution graphs that let fleets of agents run wide, remain isolated, verify on fresh context, and finish on the critical path instead of waiting through a long sequential chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Turn real tasks into execution graphs: distinguish true dependency edges from fake “and then” steps, fan out independent nodes, and protect the critical path
  • Build and maintain orchestrators that spin up parallel agents (worktrees/isolation, shared rules, result collection) on top of tools like Claude Code and other capable models
  • Design verifier nodes that never grade their own work—using fresh context, adversarial review, and/or multi-model juries
  • Create reusable recipes for high-value jobs: security sweeps, module ports, adversarial code review, ecosystem scans, cited research, and unknown-size discovery tasks
  • Measure and optimize: apply Amdahl’s-law style analysis before increasing agent count; instrument wall-clock time, token cost, and merge quality
  • Ship production-ready graphs that survive real codebases—handle overwrites, context loss, and runaway fleets with hard caps, isolation, and robust rollback paths
  • Document patterns so the rest of the team (and eventually customers) can draw their own graphs instead of prompting in a straight line

Requirements

  • Strong practical experience with modern coding agents and multi-agent workflows
  • Ability to reason about dependency graphs, critical paths, and parallel execution (experience with build systems, data pipelines, or workflow engines is a plus)
  • Comfort writing orchestration code—JavaScript/TypeScript preferred; Python or Rust also welcome—for coordinating agents, worktrees, and verification steps
  • A track record of shipping reliable automation against real codebases, not just demos or toy projects
  • Clear written communication; you’ll be turning complex agent behavior into simple, reusable patterns that others can adopt
  • Bonus: hands-on experience with git worktrees, isolated sandboxes, or large-scale test-suite gating
  • Bonus: familiarity with large AI-assisted ports and prior work on agent evaluation, adversarial review, or cost/latency trade-offs under Amdahl-style constraints
  • Bonus: interest in teaching the discipline through internal docs, public write-ups, workshops, or open-source examples
